Friends,I am writing to let you know that I have registered for AIDS Walk New York and am very excited about the event. This is a very important issue to me so I have set an ambitious fundraising goal. I want to do as much as I can to make a difference in the lives of men, women, and children affected by HIV and AIDS. Even though there has been a lot of publicity about drug treatments which are prolonging some people’s lives, they don’t work for everyone and there is still no cure in sight. Moreover, young people are still getting infected at alarmingly high rates.
GMHC and about 40 other AIDS organizations in the area get the money from the AIDS Walk. It’s clear that we need more services and more prevention programs than ever before.I want your help. Will you please sponsor me for the AIDS Walk? Just click on the website address below to enter my personalized web page and charge your donation. Thank you, in advance, for supporting this important cause and for showing that you join me in wanting to end this epidemic.
A few facts you may want to know:

Sonia Montez - Lifebeat.org Hearts and Voices Featured Artist

Sonia Montez was recently featured on the LifeBeat website, as a featured artist in their Hearts and Voices program. LifeBeat has also featured the acoustic recording of Sonia Montez and Gabe Cummins performing “Through Love’s Spell” on their Superstars 2007 Compilation.
From the feature: At LIFEbeat we’re always talking about the amazing transformation that music can give people- how something as simple as hearing a song you love, beautifully sung, can make your troubles vanish and bring you back to loving life. Sonia Montez,
with her smart, heartfelt songs, smooth-as-butter voice and spot-on fingerpicking, makes that happen every time she gets up to play for Hearts & Voices. “I’m always at my top musical game when I play for Hearts and Voices,” she says. “The audiences are the greatest and most positive people I’ve ever played for.”
LIFEbeat is the music industry’s charitable organization dedicated to reaching America’s youth with the message of HIV/AIDS prevention. For more than ten years, LIFEbeat has helped to mobilize the talents and resources of the music industry to raise awareness and funds, and to provide support to the AIDS community. http://www.lifebeat.org
NY Film Anthology Presents…
MY NAME IS ALBERT AYLER
by Kasper Collin
The prophetic free jazz saxophonist Albert Ayler, who today is seen as one of the most important innovators in jazz, was ferociously committed to his radical music and convinced that one day people would understand it; as he said in his own words, “If people don’t like it now, they will.”
